Pamela Parker
What's Up!!!

Shows ahead and shows behind...there have been sightings of the "Double P" in SF lately recording her new record and playing select performances.  Pamela just got back from another East coast tour, this time hitting New York City's legendary Bitter End (with a thick crowd, The San Francisco Review NYC Debut and Justin Kalk Orchestra).  She went through Philly and before that had an amazing New Year's show with drummer and cellist duo, John Kimock vs. Trevor Exter, in PA.  A great start to the new year!

Spring/Summer tour to be announced February 2010.  Shows coming up include more funky performances with Pamela Parker Band, singing with KATDELIC, singing and playing everything she can with The San Francisco Review (like guitar, piano, bass and drums) as well as other random TV, Internet, and underground performances.  Stay tuned for more...

As an epic Fall season rolled into a WinterWonderland tour, the story continues with spring on its way.  Pamela gives thanks to have been involved in the Woodstock 40th Anniversary Celebration in Golden Gate Park WestFest this Fall as headliner of the Rock the Bike NOW stage.  This show brought community through political activism and educated many on alternate sources of energy in everyday life.  Who knew I could pedal-power my guitar amp!  As a highlight of the experiences since she's lived in SF, right up there with releasing her first solo acoustic record, Beautiful Day at Great American Music Hall, she takes from it a light of accomplishment and sends forth a golden beam to the world through her musical endeavors.

"Our destiny (our dreams) will knock at our door until we answer, and when we do that's when everything starts to fall into place.   I've been given some music and some magic in this moment of time...to share with you."  - Pamela Parker

From the East coast to the West coast even someone from Japan is on the record.  Beautiful Day is a compilation of 2 years of work originally started as a fan-requested acoustic album from fans who saw Pam's original band, Roots A'Risin', playing up and down the East coast.

:::About the record ::: People were saying they just wanted to hear Pam stripped down with one other instrument.  Well, she started it out that way, but being in the field of music production, loving to sing harmonies and as a sound engineer it was hard for her to stop at just that.  This record has already gotten rave reviews from many, and continues to be added to playlist after playlist on radio stations around the country.  It has even been compared to the likes of Nick Drake!  Imagine that...Pam is very excited to present this work of art to everyone around the world in the hopes it will inspire positive actions, miracles and dreams coming true.  Amazing guest musicians include:  Bobby Lee Rodgers of the Codetalkers, Norwood Fisher of Fishbone & Trulio Disgracias, Dave Shul of Michael Franti & Spearhead, Jordan Feinstein of The Ritual, Yari Mander of Gamelan X, Mark Calderone, Yoshi Ikeda, Daniel Parker & Ben Krames (Jungle Shack Studios). and more....

Pamela is also putting the finishing touches on a community educational institution she is helping start in San Francisco called The San Francisco Rock School.  She believes it's important to teach our children in a fun, yet real, environment.   This makes it easier to succeed in the "real world" given the right derction and motivation.  Pamela is helping develop the criteria for classes including teaching the kids about the connection between math and music, a fascinating subject, which can help a child become more proficient in music..  SF Rock School also prides itself on teaching its students about creating a self-sustaining activity.  With the right amount of fan outreach and show attendance, SF Rockers are taught how to get their tuition paid for through the success of their own band during any given semester.  The more people you bring to your Big Show at the end of each semester determines the amount of scholarship you are awarded for the next semester.  It's a win, win situation for all.  The kids learn about music, being in a band, a little bit of marketing, making friends and math, what more could you do in 2 hours?

"SF Rock School is about creating community in music and connecting people of all ages to be successful with their own personal goals in music."

Last, but certainly not least, the first episode of "The Pam Show" is slowly under way and Pam is looking to complete filming soon.  I,Star is scheduled to be the first guest on the show.  Completion date is set for sometime in 2010...hopefully the earlier part.  So, watch out for the first episode featuring performances by Pamela, I,Star, Lady Chi and more.  Also, featured will be the Recycle Bin, a mini-show-within-a-show that teaches you how to modify existing clothing that are not so fly anymore into magnificent garments to be worn anywhere.  The first segment of the Recycle Bin will be "Turn That Granny Sweater Into That Nanny Sweater".  Stay tuned for updates...Love and Light
